CHRISTIAN GOHMER

He was artistic director of the Sonora Philharmonic Orchestra during 2014 and 2015, and is artistic director and founder of the contemporary music chamber Tempus Fugit; At the head of this group, he makes a significant number of productions of chamber opera and contemporary opera in Mexico today. He has become one of the most active conductors of the new generation in Mexico, due to his growing activity in symphonic music, opera and contemporary music.
He received the Coinversiones grant from the National Fund for Culture and the Arts in the period 2007-2008, with which he made the first recording in Latin America of Schönberg's Pierrot Lunaire and works by Alejandro Romero and Georgina Derbéz. His second album (Regards) for Quindecim Recordings includes French repertoire of the 20th century in his first recordings in Latin America and the first world recordings of works by Jorge Torres Sáenz and Ana Lara. He made the world's first recording of the opera Las Cartas de Frida by composer Marcela Rodríguez and another album that includes the world's first recording from La Noche de los Mayas by Silvestre Revueltas, in the version by Paul Hindemith and the Hispanic Concert by Juan Trigos for guitar and orchestra.
Graduated from the Superior School of Music of INBA, from an early age he began violin studies; He has studied conducting with Enrique Diemecke, Enrique Patrón de Rueda and with Alain Paris. Likewise, he has attended advanced courses with the Freiburg Baroque Orchestra, the Recherche ensemble and Diavolus in Musicæ, among others.
His outstanding work has led him to work with musical groups such as the Orchestra and Choir of the Theater of Fine Arts, the Philharmonic Orchestras of Mexico City, of the UNAM (OFUNAM), the Symphony Orchestras of the Autonomous Universities of Guanajuato, of Nuevo León and the State of Hidalgo, Chamber Orchestras of Fine Arts and the Michoacán University, IPN Symphony, CEPROMUSIC Ensemble, and the Puebla State Symphony. Throughout 2013 he was guest director of the INBA Ensemble Soloists. From 2005 to 2009 He was musical director of the Symphony Orchestra of the Superior School of Music. He has worked with soloists such as Jorge Federico Osorio, Simone Kermes, Christophe Dujardin, Tarja Turunen, Francisco Ladrón de Guevara, Erika Dobosiewicz, Cuauhtémoc Rivera, among others.
